Designer’s Statement

Maesa is a visionary fashion designer with a strong focus on beauty, aesthetic ornamentations, and eccentric attitude in everything he designs. He invites his audience to explore the world of beauty and all the little things beyond what’s visually appealing to our eyes. Inspired by people, architecture, and culture, Maesa’s continuing vision is to produce high-end designs that express a visual emotion of elegance, sophistication, fierceness, and haute-couture. 

His passion for fashion and creative direction has been his main motivational factor. He always makes sure there is a narrative on every single work - a story with an authentic style that acts as the foundation of his design choices to execute a vision and concept. He loves pattern drafting, draping, conceptualizing, and directing artistic elements of designs in his day-to-day fashion work. He pays close attention to silhouette developments, fabric manipulations, textile details, and color story to create specific moods and styles. 

Maesa was born in 1991 in Jakarta, Indonesia and lives in San Francisco, CA. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental at the University of Vermont in 2013 and an Associate of Arts degree in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in 2019.
